I am available for guided walks around Mumbles, Swansea & Gower. Please contact me to discuss your requirements and budget.

About this event
Local folklorist & researcher Beverley Rogers will be your guide around the beautiful Oystermouth Cemetery in The Mumbles. On this Spring walk we will explore the nature of the site, learn about its wonderful history and discover stories surrounding some of the residents who are interred there. We will also uncover some of the fascinating old folklore surrounding death and burial in Wales, along with learning about some of the more modern customs.

Walking Level
The walking is relatively easy but there is a little exertion over uneven ground to reach some graves (optional) and some steps to climb.

Dogs
Dogs are very welcome on a lead.

About your guide
Beverley has a Masters in Death, Religion and Culture where she specialised in Welsh death and burial customs and superstitions. She is a Director of Gower Unearthed which offers heritage education and wellbeing activities on the Gower and is an experienced walking guide.

Cost
There is no fixed charge for this event, however donations are gratefully received on the day in order to cover the costs of putting on this walk (insurance, research, time etc).

I am always asked how much tickets for a tour of this type would be so that people can decide how much to pay. As a guide, the last Gower Walking Festival included my tour and it was £6 per person.

The amount donated is however totally up to you.
